This existing residence sits on a wooded 5 acre lot with its own stream and private frontage on Duck Lake in Interlochen, Michigan.   A large living room, bedroom and lower level pub addition will nearly double the size of the home and create more space to accommodate several vacationing families at one time.   The existing house included log siding and a gambrel roofline which was enhanced with shed dormers,  a new large stone fireplace and weathered barn wood siding as an accent to the log aesthetic.  This house captures the feel of the “Up North” cottage while including modern amenities like energy efficient materials and insulation.
